Claire Farron is the eldest sibling in the Farron household. Her sister Serah is 3 years younger than her. Her father died when she was very young and her mother died from an unknown illness when she was fifteen. It was at this time Claire realized she had to grow up and take care of her younger sister, taking on the persona of Lightning–though she was still a child on the inside, wanting love and attention she had to push away from herself.
After graduating high school she went off to join the Guardian Corps Bodhum Security Regiment and quickly rose up to the rank of sergeant and was scheduled for officer training. Though it was at this time she realized she had spent too much time at work and not enough time with her sister, which led to her beginning to lose sight of her goals and spend even more hours working and less with her sister.
On her twenty-first birthday she got the news that Serah had become a Pulse L'Cie, an enemy of Cocoon. This crushed Lightning to the point where she stormed out without getting the chance to speak to her sister again until much later when she watches her fulfill her focus and turn to crystal. The realization that the last of her family had turned into a rock, never able to wake up again, infuriated her so much to the point of taking on the Fal'Cie that cursed her sister, and eventually her as well.
As her journey went on to taking down an entire government and way of life Lightning learned the importance of speaking out and talking about her feelings and letting herself be loved by friends and people who became her family. When she’s reunited with her sister she gives Serah and Snow her blessing, or so Serah thinks she did.
It was during this reunion that Lightning was pulled into an unseen realm, Valhalla, to guard the dying goddess of death, Etro. Though her enemy is strong and threatens to break time itself and kill out the human race. Lightning summons the last human to ever be born, Noel Kreiss, to her aid along with telling him to go after her sister and fix the timelines, and stop Caius from sending Cocoon from crashing into Pulse.
By the end of this journey Lightning learns that her sister had the powers of the seeress’ and died saving the true future. Caius succeeded in releasing Valhalla into their world and time itself ceased to flow for everyone. No one aged, yet people still died, yet no one could be born. Learning of the death of her sister Lightning becomes and eternal epitaph and lies on Etro’s throne, kept in a crystal stasis for 500 years.
She awoke to a bright light, the voice of Bhunivelze calling out to save souls and bring them away from this dying world, into a new world that was sure to be paradise. She became the savior, stripped of all emotions and she became something other than human, though she never really knew what.
She was given thirteen days to save as many souls as she could for this new world, though she soon learned that this so called God was corrupt, as were his worshipers. Almost ticking a saint into taking her own life to destroy the souls lost in chaos. Plotting with the only fragment of her sister left, kept safe by a lost soul Lumina, helped her realize that this God wasn’t one that should run a new world back into the ground.
After taking down a God she was willing to give up her place in the new world and become Goddess of the dead, to stay trapped in chaos while all of her companions on her journeys went to a new world, one not ruled by Gods or filled with magic. One filled with hardworking people, a simpler life. Caius Ballad stepped up to the plate and gave Lightning the chance to reunite with her sister into the new world.
She had become a new woman from all of this, her friends had grown and so had she. Lightning became the soft woman she knew she was meant to be. No longer haunted by the death of her parents, or longing for love she now had. Her life was place in a true new beginning, no Gods, no magic, no worries, just her, her sister, and a new world awaiting them.

Her parents were lost along with her sister when they happened by a sinking ship and the explosion caught all but her, she was always bad at swimming ahead of the rest. She has a scar up the right side of her tail where shrapnel caught her in the blast. Her tail in a dark teal with hints of pink and gold.

Version 1: After everything that had happened, Lightning struggled with her mental state. She suffered from severe PTSD and can be triggered by nothing at all. She’s reverted back to her cold state, but it’s gotten much much worse. She’s cut herself off from all of her old friends and her sister. She now goes by Claire, if she’s ever addressed as Lightning she breaks down and goes into a rage. She’s a few breakdowns away from being thrown into a mental hospitial.

Princess Claire Farron was born an only child to her mother and father who ruled over a kingdom. As a child she followed the rules and learned the mannerisms and behaved wonderfully. She is musically talented on the French Horn and Piano. Though as she grew older she was given suitor after suitor whom she didn’t approve of and her father is growing restless. Her mother sides with Claire in saying she should have to fall in love with her prince, yet that didn’t stop her father from trying to betroth her.
